The Fatema Mernissi Chair (Mohammed V University and HEM Business School) and UNESCO are launching a call for applications adressed to young artists and young researchers based in Morocco. Applicants are invited to submit proposals for a series of thematic workshops focusing on mobility from a (post-) colonial perspective and on the concept of “Houdoud” (borders).
The call is part of the project “The fertilization of knowledge through the meeting of art and research » that aims to create links between artistic practices and academic research in the humanities and social sciences and to bring out innovative approaches to contemporary cultural phenomena.

It is open to artists and researchers under 35 years old who are based in Morocco:
• artists from the performing arts (theater, performance, dance ...)
• architects or visual artists (painting, photography, video, design ...)
• researchers in the humanities and social sciences
The activities of the project will run from November 2018 to June 2019, with regular follow-up until completion in June 2019.
The outcomes of the project will be presented in June 2019 in Casablanca and can take multiple forms:
model, text, performance or artwork for the young artists, and critical, analytical or methodological text for the young researchers; or collaborative hybrids of both.

The program incudes workshops in Rabat, Tetouan, Berlin, Bordeaux and Casablanca according to the following schedule:

Performing Arts workshop
• 3 - 7 December 2018 in Rabat
• 11 - 14 March 2019 in Bordeaux
Visual arts workshop
• 14 - 17 November 2018 in Tetouan
• 18 - 22 February 2019 in Berlin
End of the program and final presentations
• 7 - 9 June 2019 in Casablanca

All expenses of selected candidates, as well as visa procedures when necessary, will be supported by the organizers.
